The court declined the request of joining the cases
Istanbul 5th High Penal Court declined the request of joining the case on “omission of public officials” with the main Hrant Dink case. The file is sent back to 14th High Penal Court.
According to Anadolu Agency’s report, Istanbul 5th High Penal Court sent back the new case with 26 suspects, which was requested to be joined with the main case, to 14th High Penal Court on the grounds that they didn’t request for a consent.
The indictment on public officials, who committed the crime of omission, was approved by the office of the chief prosecutor after having sent back twice and sent to 14th High Penal Court.
The investigating prosecutor Gökalp Kökçü made a request for adding the indictment to the main case in 5th High Penal Court. However, the chief prosecutor sent it to 14th High Penal Court.
