Ercan Demir pointed the finger at gendarmerie personnel
The
trial of public officials, including Ramazan Akyürek, Celalettin
Cerrah, Ahmet İlhan Güler and Engin Dinç has started in Istanbul

High Penal Court.
Arrested suspects Ramazan Akyürek and Ali Fuat Yılmazer, and Celalettin Cerrah, Reşat Altay, Ahmet İlhan Güler, Ercan Demir, Mehmet Ayhan, Faruk Sarı, Onur Karakaya, Özkan Mumcu, who are not under arrest, are present at the hearing.
Also, Tamer Bülent Demirel, Osman Gülbel, Ali Poyraz, Ogün Samast and Yasin Hayal are attending the hearing through video call.
HDP Istanbul MP Garo Paylan is also following the hearing.
They have no lawyer
Lawyers of Dink family Hakan Bakırcıoğlu, Bahri Belen, Sebu Alsangil, İnci İşbulur, Ayşenur Demirkale are present.
And lawyers of some suspects, including Ramazan Akyürek and Ali Fuat Yılmazer have withdrawn from the case; so, some suspects are attending this hearing without a lawyer.
“The truth cannot be concealed anymore”
The hearing started with the defence of police officer Ercan Demir from Trabzon Intelligence Branch. He rejected the claims that present him as a member of Gulenist movement.
Stating that he hadn't received any information on the murder before it happened, Demir pointed the finger at gendarmerie personnel. “I am the one who exposed the connection of gendarmerie. They are concealing certain things in accordance with the current issues. However, the truth cannot be concealed anymore. You can forge papers or deceive the court, but you won't win. The entire country is watching this case. The court is being stalled in vain.”
“The investigation is misguided”
Demir reminded the report written by Trabzon Gendarmerie, which includes the details of murder weapon before the hit-man Ogün Samast was caught.
“They had written down the details of the murder weapon before Ogün was caught. If you are searching for something, you have to look there. It is said that the gendarmerie personnel was scouting. It is known who was in Istanbul for scouting. The investigation is misguided. I've told this before, you cannot find the murderer here. You cannot achieve anything with misdirection and forged reports.”
Demir also claimed that Erhan Tuncel was dismissed in accordance with the regulations.
