Dink case: Trabzon Intelligence Branch's defences continue
The Dink case continues in 14th High Penal Court.
Arrested suspects Ali Fuat Yılmazer, Ramazan Akyürek, tutuksuz
sanılar Celalettin Cerrah, Ahmet İlhan Güler, Sabri Uzun, Mehmet
Ayhan, Ercan Demir, Onur Karakaya, Faruk Sarı and Erhan Tuncel are
present at the hearing with 35 suspects.
Ogün Samast, Yasin Hayal, Hamdi Egbatan, Osman Gülbel, Ali Poyraz, Şükrü Yıldız, Mehmet Ali Özkılınç are attending the hearing through video call.
Dink family's lawyers Hakan Bakırcıoğlu, Emel Ataktürk Sevimli, Sebu Aslangil, İnci İşbulur, and Hülya Deveci are also present.
In the previous hearings, the lawyers of Ali Fuat Yılmazer and Ramazan Akyürek had withdrawn. New lawyers are assigned to the suspects.
Mehmet Ayhan, a police officer from Trabzon Security Directorate Intelligence Branch, presented his defence yesterday and the cross examination is continued today.
“What were those 34 phone calls about?”
The chief judge asked about the 34 phone calls with Erhan Tuncel, after he was dismissed. Ayhan said that “sometimes they were just chatting” and he doesn't remember the content of the calls.
“Is there any investigation on the disposed documents?”
Ali Fuat Yılmazer talked about the disposed report. He said, “This was mentioned during the defence of Engin Dinç, who said that there wasn't F4 report. He said it was disposed. If it is true, it is a major crime. Engin Dinç has the authority to investigate and dismiss Mehmet Ayhan.” Yılmazer asked Ayhan whether there was an investigation against him because of the disposed report.
After Ayhan said that he presented a defence to the Ministry of Interior, Yılmazer said: “He allegedly disposed some documents and somehow still works in Trabzon Security Directorate Intelligence Branch.”
Tuncel: Why didn't you return my calls?
Yılmazer also said that officials from Istanbul Security Directorate stopped contacting to Department of Intelligence after January 19.
Erhan Tuncel also spoke and claimed that he called the officers in order to inform that Yasin Hayal is looking for bullets, but they didn't return his calls. Ayhan said that there wasn't any significant calls about this issue.
Ayhan's cross examination is completed. After the lunch break, Onur Karakaya, police officer from Trabzon Security Directorate Intelligence Branch, will present his defence.
