Dink case resumes on
The demand of recusal is refused and the indictment against the Deputy Governor of Ordu and former civil inspector Mehmet Ali Özkılınç is accepted by the 14th High Penal Court.
The case, which includes suspects like the current Chief of Security General Directorate Intelligence Branch Engin Dinç, former Istanbul Provincial Police Chief Celalettin Cerrah, former Chief of Security General Directorate Intelligence Branch Ramazan Akyürek, former Chief of Istanbul Police Directorate Intelligence Branch Ahmet İlhan Güler, former Trabzon Provincial Police Chief Reşat Altay and former Istanbul Intelligence Branch Chief Sabri Uzun will continue on May 24. The hearing in the 14th High Penal Court will last for 3 days.
The first hearing of the joined cased was held on May 19. Suspects Yılmaz Angın and Ali Fuat Yılmazer demanded recusation on the ground that the court is not impartial.
The court sent the demand of recusal to the second committee of the 14th High Penal Court. Evaluating the demand, the committee refused the demand stating that there is no reason for doubting the impartiality of the court.
In the first hearing, suspects Muhittin Zenit and Özkan Mumcu was released, the prosecutor objected that decision and demanded a reversal. The court refused prosecutor's demand.
A new suspect
Investigating Prosecutor İrfan Fidan prepared an indictment against Deputy Governor of Ordu and former civil inspector Mehmet Ali Özkılınç and sent it to the 14th High Penal Court, which accepted the indictment and decided to join it with the main case.
