Historic referendum in Turkey: narrow win for “yes”
The constitutional referendum was held in Turkey yesterday. Yes campaign won 51.41% of the votes, while No got 48.59%. Turnout was said to around 85%. President Erdoğan declared victory last night before the official results.

Turkish President invited to the concert in memory of genocide
Dresden Symphony Orchestra will perform “Aghet”, which is composed on the occasion of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, in Turkish Embassy to Germany on November 13. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is invited to the concert.

Turkey: we will be involved both in the operation and negotiations
After the Mosul operation is launched in this morning, Turkish authorities started to make their first statements. While President Erdoğan stated that Turkey will be involved both in the operation and negotiations, Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş said that Turkey has Plan B and C for Mosul.

Leaders summit without HDP in presidential palace
CHP Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and MHP Chair Devlet Bahçeli will be hosted in presidential palace for the first time. President Erdoğan hasn't invited HDP to the meeting where the leaders of political parties will come together.

Coup attempt in Turkey
A group within Turkish military attempted to overthrow the government last night. The coup is forced back early in this morning, but the tension continues in Turkey. According Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, 161 people were killed and 1440 people were injured. He also stated that the organizers of the coup are detained.

Erdoğan threatens Armenian citizens once again
President Erdoğan, after the Armenian Genocide resolution was passed in Bundestag, threatened to send Armenian citizens living Turkey to Armenia. Erdoğan made a similar statement in 2010.

Turkish government’s initial reactions against the genocide resolution
President Erdoğan, Prime Minister Yıldırım and Deputy Prime Minister Kurtulmuş made statements after the Armenian Genocide resolution was passed by Bundestag. Moreover, Turkish ambassador to Germany is recalled to Ankara.

Political oppression to the Constitutional Court
After the Constitutional Court decided that the rights of Erdem Gül and Can Dündar are violated, President Erdoğan said, “I don't obey and respect to that decision.” With this statement, Chief Judge of the Constitutional Court Zühtü Arslan became the focus of debates. Today, he made a statement: “Constitutional Court's decisions are binding to everyone. Disapproval or appreciation of anybody doesn't mean anything to the court.”

Genocide item in the refugee negotiation with Germany
Spiegel newspaper claimed that the discussion about the Armenian Genocide draft in Bundestag is postponed for now. It was also claimed that Erdoğan laid down some conditions (3 billion Euros from Brussels, provide convenience for receiving visa, declaring that Turkey is a safe country and invitation for EU summits) for stopping the refugee traffic.

Turkey is on the way to a “re-election” with a temporary parliament. Turkey, since June 7, has been experiencing many things for the first time. Some of these things are certain powers which are not practiced before, but the President Erdoğan has chosen to exercise. We talked to Izmir MP Ex-MP Rıza Türmen, who is one of the most competent people on the field of international law in Turkey and who worked as a judge at European Court of Human Rights, about this process that brought about debates on “civilian coup” and other issues related to this process.
