Restoration in Armenian Catholic Church in Sur

Ministry's statement: the churches in Sur won't be closed down
Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning stated that the churches in Sur province of Diyarbakir will be restored in accordance with their original condition and they are not considering using those buildings for any other purpose.

UN's call about Cizre: allow independent investigation
United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al-Hussein made a call to Turkish government for allowing independent investigation on the grave human rights violations happened in the regions under curfew. Hussein stated that “the most worrisome” reports are the ones claiming that 100 people were burned to death in the basements in Cizre.

HDP report: curfews, 6 months, 180 killed
According to HDP's report, in the southeastern region of Turkey, 460 civilians (84 children, 79 women) were killed since July. It is also reported that 180 civilians were killed in Cizre, Sur and Silop, which are currently under curfew.

Police fire on the people who went take care of the injured
Cizre is still under curfew and police forces fired on the people who wanted to take care of the injured people in Cudi neighborhood. 10 people were injured, including Refik Tekin, working as a cameraman for İMC TV.

New threat in Sur: urban transformation
The curfew and the clashes that follow it continue in Sur province of Diyarbakir. There have been intermittent curfews in Sur since September 6. There is a ban on entering or leaving the province. Civilians were killed and many buildings in the province are damaged.

“Cleaning from house to house” starts in Silopi
Silopi is still under curfew and police and military forces raided the house of Seyfettin Aslan, the co-Mayor of Silopi, while HDP MP Ferhat Encü and co-Mayors of Silopi Emine Esmer and Seyfettin Aslan were there. Encü stated that the security forces started to follow the order of the prime minister who said “There will be a cleaning from house to house.” Encü also said that a civilian is killed in Cizre.

TİHV’s report: What happened in Silvan in 10 days?
Documentation Center of TİHV (Human Rights Foundation of Turkey) reported the violation of rights committed against the civilians during the curfew in Silvan district of Diyarbakir. In the report, it is stated that 6 people were killed by the security forces. After the release of TİHV’s report, another civilian was killed in Mescit Neighborhood in Slivan.
